Cookie Policy
This Policy explains what cookies are, which of them we use in our e-shop and for what purpose, to whom we disclose the data obtained, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent at any time. We use necessary cookies to ensure the basic functionality of the e-shop; the others (functional, statistical and marketing) we use solely on the basis of your consent.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, mobile phone) when you visit a website and, on your next visit, allow the website to recognise you again. Alongside cookies, we also use similar technologies (for example localStorage in your browser) – in this Policy we refer to them collectively as “cookies” for simplicity. Cookies do not damage your device and do not contain viruses.
Why we use cookies
Cookies help us ensure the proper functioning of the e-shop (login, shopping-cart contents, security), remember your settings, measure customer satisfaction through verified reviews and – on the basis of your consent – measure e-shop traffic and display the store map and store reviews. Without necessary cookies, the e-shop would not function properly.
Legal basis and consent
The use of cookies is governed by § 109 ods. 8 zákona č. 452/2021 Z. z. o elektronických komunikáciách (the Slovak Act on Electronic Communications) and – where this involves the processing of personal data – by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and by zákon č. 18/2018 Z. z. o ochrane osobných údajov (the Slovak Personal Data Protection Act).
- Necessary cookies do not require consent – they are needed so that we can provide you with the service you have expressly requested (for example, displaying the page, logging in, the shopping cart, completing an order).
- Functional, statistical and marketing cookies are used by us only with your prior consent, which you give in the cookie bar on your first visit. Consent is voluntary and you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
Categories of cookies
- Necessary – required for the basic functioning of the e-shop (login, cart, security, storing your consent choice). They are always on and cannot be switched off.
- Functional – they extend functionality and convenience, for example displaying the interactive store map (Google Maps).
- Statistical – they allow traffic and use of the e-shop to be measured (Google Analytics) and purchases to be measured for verified reviews (Heureka “Verified by Customers”).
- Marketing – they serve to obtain store reviews (Google Customer Reviews).

The specific list and validity of third-party cookies are determined by their providers and may change over time. Tools marked as functional, statistical or marketing are loaded only after you have given your consent in the relevant category. Tools marked as necessary are loaded even without your consent, because without them we cannot provide the service you have expressly requested, nor operate the e-shop securely; they are not used for advertising or for tracking your behaviour on other websites.
Third-party tools and transfers to third countries
Some providers may, in providing their services, process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular Google (Google Analytics, Google Maps, Google Customer Reviews) in the USA. Such a transfer is safeguarded in accordance with the GDPR, in particular on the basis of the Data Privacy Framework (the EU–US personal-data protection framework) or standard contractual clauses. These tools are loaded solely with your consent in the relevant category. You can find more about the processing of data by these providers in their privacy policies:
- Google – policies.google.com/privacy
- Heureka – www.heureka.sk
Our website is made available through the network of Cloudflare, Inc., with its registered office in the United States of America. When you visit our website, the communication between your browser and our server may pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure, which in doing so processes your IP address and technical data about the request (the date and time of access, the address of the page visited, the type and language of the browser, the type of device and operating system, and other request headers). On pages that contain a form protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, the verification element is loaded and performs its check as soon as the page is displayed, that is, before you submit the form.
The purpose is the delivery of the website, its availability and security, and protection against bots and the misuse of forms. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and available operation of the e-shop (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This processing does not depend on your consent and cannot be switched off in the cookie bar; you do, however, have the right to object to it under Art. 21 GDPR. Since Cloudflare, Inc. is a company established in the USA, this constitutes a transfer of personal data to a third country; such a transfer is safeguarded on the basis of the European Commission's decision on an adequate level of protection for the Data Privacy Framework (the EU–US personal-data protection framework), in which Cloudflare, Inc. is registered, and at the same time on the basis of the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission, which form part of the personal-data processing agreement concluded with Cloudflare, Inc. You can find more information in Cloudflare's privacy policy – www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
How to manage or withdraw consent
On your first visit to the e-shop, you choose in the cookie bar which categories of cookies you allow. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because the e-shop does not work without them.
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser – you can view, delete or block them. Please note that blocking necessary cookies may limit the functionality of the e-shop. Instructions for the most commonly used browsers:
- Google Chrome – support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox – support.mozilla.org
- Microsoft Edge – support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
- Apple Safari – support.apple.com
Retention period
Necessary session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed; we retain the record of your consent choice until it is withdrawn or until this Policy is changed. The validity of third-party cookies is determined by their providers. If you give us consent in this context, we process the data only for the stated purpose and for the duration of the consent's validity, or until it is withdrawn.
Your rights
If your personal data is processed in connection with the use of cookies, you have in particular the right of access to the data, the right to have it rectified and erased, the right to restriction of processing, the right to object, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, which is the Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, www.dataprotection.gov.sk). Detailed information on the processing of personal data, recipients and your rights can be found in the Privacy Policy document.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time so that it reflects the current legal framework and the tools we use. When we add a new recipient or purpose that is subject to your consent (functional, statistical or marketing cookies), we will notify you by showing the cookie bar again and asking for new consent. Changes concerning necessary tools, which are used without consent, we announce by updating this Policy and the date of its last update. We therefore recommend that you check this page occasionally.
