Product description

The rubber NR – para-rubber gasket sheet with a width of 1400 mm is a high-strength abrasion-resistant material based on natural rubber. It is sold per square metre as a cut from the roll, so you order exactly as much as you need.

The NR para-rubber gasket sheet is a vulcanised elastomer based on natural rubber with high strength and elasticity. It is characterised by increased abrasion resistance and excellent mechanical properties, which is why it withstands mechanical stress and abrasion over the long term.

The sheet has a tensile strength of 18 MPa, an elongation of 100 % and a hardness of 40 ± 5 °ShA, which makes it a soft and pliable material suitable for sealing and damping. The working temperature is in the range of -40 °C to +80 °C, the colour is beige and the density is 2 g/cm³.

The material is highly resistant to abrasion and moderately resists alkalis and acids. It is not intended for environments with the action of oils, petrol, UV radiation or the direct effect of weather.

Main advantages

  • High abrasion resistance – natural rubber resists abrasion and mechanical stress over the long term.
  • Tensile strength 18 MPa – a strong yet flexible material with an elongation of 100 %.
  • Soft hardness 40 ± 5 °ShA – it seats and seals well even on an uneven surface.
  • Wide temperature range – usable from -40 °C to +80 °C.
  • Made-to-measure sale – cutting from a roll 1400 mm wide, you pay only for the ordered area in m².
  • Choice of thicknesses 1 to 10 mm – one material for both light and more demanding sealing applications.

Use

  • Sealing of flanges, covers, hatches and joints exposed to abrasion.
  • Manufacture of gaskets and washers from soft abrasion-resistant rubber.
  • Protective and damping layers against mechanical stress.
  • Linings and cladding of hoppers, chutes and silos.
  • Universal sealing surfaces where resistance to oils and weather is not required.

Frequently asked questions

How is the gasket sheet sold and charged?

The sheet is sold per square metre (m²) as a cut from a roll 1400 mm wide. One linear metre of cut represents 1.4 m². The minimum order is 0.5 lin. m, i.e. 0.7 m². We also supply whole rolls 10 lin. m long.

What thicknesses of the NR para-rubber sheet are available?

We offer the sheet in thicknesses of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm. The weight increases with thickness – from 1.25 kg/m² at 1 mm up to 12.5 kg/m² at 10 mm.

Is this material resistant to oils or weather?

No. NR para-rubber is highly resistant to abrasion and moderately resists acids and alkalis, but it is not suitable for environments with oils, petrol, UV radiation or the direct effect of weather.

Details of the dimensional tolerances for rubber products can be found in the shop footer.
