Product description
Oil-resistant gasket sheet NBR SUPER without textile insert in a width of 1400 mm, made from a blend of NBR-SBR rubbers. It is sold by the metre (m²) – by cutting from the roll, so you pay for exactly as much rubber as you need.
The sheet is 100 % resistant to petroleum products and is intended for environments where rubber comes into direct contact with mineral oils and petrols. Thanks to its NBR-SBR composition it retains its sealing ability even in contact with transformer oil, which makes it a reliable solution for mechanical engineering, hydraulics and the energy sector.
The material has a hardness of 70 ± 5 °ShA, a tensile strength of 7 MPa and an elongation of 300 %. The working temperature ranges from -20 °C to +80 °C, and it can withstand up to +90 °C for short periods. The density is 1.4 g/cm³, the colour is black. Thicknesses from 1 mm to 8 mm are available, with the surface weight increasing proportionally as the thickness increases.
The sheet is highly resistant to oils, transformer oil and petrol, only mildly resistant to acids, and not resistant to alkalis – when selecting a gasket, therefore take the nature of the medium into account.
Main advantages
- High resistance to oils and petrol – the NBR-SBR blend is 100 % resistant to petroleum products including transformer oil.
- Sold by the metre – a cut from a roll of 1400 mm width, you pay only for the area you actually need (1 running metre = 1.4 m²).
- Without textile insert – the homogeneous rubber is easy to cut, adapts to the shape and seals across the entire cross-section.
- Wide range of thicknesses – from 1 mm to 8 mm for various sealing gaps and clamping forces.
- Stable over a wide temperature range – works from -20 °C to +80 °C, up to +90 °C for short periods.
- Flexible and strong material – a tensile strength of 7 MPa and an elongation of 300 % make assembly and long-term sealing easier.
Use
- Sealing of flanges and joints where rubber comes into contact with mineral oils.
- Applications in contact with petrols and fuels.
- Seals in the energy sector in contact with transformer oil.
- Mechanical engineering and hydraulic seals resistant to petroleum products.
- Production of custom gaskets by cutting and punching from the sheet.
Frequently asked questions
What area do I get for one running metre?
The sheet is cut from a roll 1400 mm wide, so 1 running metre corresponds to 1.4 m². The minimum order is 0.5 running metre, i.e. 0.7 m². We also supply whole rolls in a length of 10 running metres.
Is the sheet suitable for contact with oils and petrol?
Yes. The NBR-SBR material is 100 % resistant to petroleum products – it is highly resistant to oils, transformer oil and petrol. It is only mildly resistant to acids and is not resistant to alkalis.
Which thicknesses can I choose?
The sheet is available in thicknesses of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm. The surface weight increases with thickness (1 mm = 1.5 kg/m², 8 mm = 12 kg/m²), which you should take into account when calculating the weight of the shipment.
