Product description
Rubber sealing strip made of compact EPDM rubber with textile insert in the size 8 mm x 80 mm. Thanks to its mechanical, physical and chemical properties, it is intended for sealing structural and building parts in various industrial sectors. The surface of the profile is smooth, the colour black and the standard hardness 70 °ShA.
Main properties
Material: compact EPDM rubber (ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) with textile insert.
Dimension: 8 mm x 80 mm, black colour, smooth surface.
Hardness: 70 °ShA (standard version).
Working temperature: -40 to +100 °C without a change in properties, short-term up to +130 °C.
Tightness: it is airtight and has practically zero water absorption.
Resistance: it resists weather effects.
Use
The EPDM strip has a very wide range of uses. It is used as sealing for light fittings, expansion joints, when covering with polycarbonate, in ventilation systems and in other industrial sectors – construction, engineering, food and automotive.
EPDM profiles are seals based on ethylene-propylene-diene rubber with inorganic and organic additives. During short-term exposure to temperatures above +100 °C, premature ageing of the material must be expected.
Sales and delivery
We supply the strip by the metre with a minimum order of 1 metre; the maximum length of a continuous strip is 10 m. On request, EPDM sealing profiles are also available in other shapes and sizes listed in the relevant downloadable catalogue. By arrangement, a shape can be manufactured according to the customer's specific needs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum strip length I can order?
The maximum length of a continuous strip is 10 m. We sell the strip by the metre with a minimum order of 1 metre, so you can order the exact length according to your need.
What temperatures does the EPDM strip withstand?
The material resists temperatures from -40 to +100 °C without a change in its physical, mechanical and chemical properties. It withstands short-term exposure to temperatures up to +130 °C, but premature ageing must be expected.
Is the strip resistant to water and air?
Yes. The EPDM profile is airtight and has practically no water absorption, which makes it suitable for sealing against weather effects.
