EPDM rubber strip with textile insert 5 mm x 40 mm, black, hardness 70 °ShA. Compact seal resistant to weather for industry and construction, sold by the metre.
Product description
EPDM rubber strip with textile insert in the dimension 5 mm x 40 mm is a compact seal resistant to weather, which we supply as a cut length with a minimum order of 1 metre.
The sealing strip is made of compact rubber on a base of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) with inorganic and organic additives and with a reinforcing textile insert. By its mechanical, physical and chemical properties it is intended for sealing structural and building parts in various branches of industry.
The material does not let air through and has practically no water absorption. It resists weather influences in the temperature range -40 to +100 °C without a change of physical, mechanical and chemical properties. It also withstands short-term exposure to temperatures up to +130 °C, at which, however, premature ageing must be expected.
The surface of the profile is smooth, the colour black and the standard hardness is 70 °ShA. The maximum length of a continuous strip is 10 m.
Main advantages
Resistance to weather - EPDM withstands ozone, UV radiation and weather influences long-term without a change of properties.
Wide temperature range - reliably seals in the range -40 to +100 °C, in the short term up to +130 °C.
Textile insert - strengthens the strip and increases its dimensional stability during installation.
Impermeability and low water absorption - it does not let air through and practically does not absorb, therefore it seals well.
Sold to size - we supply it as a cut length with a minimum order of 1 metre, you pay only for the needed length.
Production to order - EPDM profiles are also available in further shapes and sizes, or according to the customer's specification.
Use
Sealing into light fittings.
Sealing expansion joints.
Sealing when covering with polycarbonate.
Sealing in air handling.
Construction and engineering industry.
Food and automotive industry.
Frequently asked questions
What maximum strip length can I order?
The maximum length of a continuous strip is 10 m. We supply the strip as a cut length with a minimum order of 1 metre.
What temperature does the strip withstand?
EPDM material resists in the temperature range -40 to +100 °C without a change of properties. In the short term it withstands temperatures up to +130 °C, but in this case premature ageing must be expected.
Can the profile be made in another size or shape?
Yes. EPDM sealing profiles are available to order in various further shapes and sizes stated in the catalogue. Upon agreement production of a shape according to the customer's specific needs is also possible.
