Product description
EPDM rubber sealing strip with textile insert in the dimension 3 mm x 80 mm – compact black rubber with a smooth surface, sold as a cut length for precise sealing of structural and building parts.
This strip is made of compact EPDM rubber (on a base of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) with inorganic and organic additives and with a reinforcing textile insert. Thanks to its mechanical, physical and chemical properties it is intended for sealing structural and building parts in various branches of industry. The material does not let air through and has practically no water absorption.
EPDM profiles excellently resist weather influences in the temperature range -40 to +100 °C without a change of physical, mechanical and chemical properties. In the short term they withstand exposure to temperatures up to +130 °C, while premature ageing must be expected. The surface of the profile is smooth, the colour black and it is produced as standard in a hardness of 70 °ShA.
We supply the strip as a cut length with a minimum order of 1 metre and a maximum strip length of 10 m. EPDM sealing profiles are also available to order in further shapes and sizes stated in the relevant catalogue; upon agreement production of a shape according to the customer's specific needs is also possible.
Main advantages
Resistance to weather influences - EPDM withstands ozone, UV radiation as well as ageing in the open without loss of properties.
Wide temperature range - reliably seals from -40 to +100 °C, in the short term up to +130 °C.
Textile insert - strengthens the strip, increases dimensional stability and resistance to tearing.
Zero water absorption and airtightness - the material does not let air through and practically does not absorb water, which guarantees a tight joint.
Sold by the metre - you buy exactly as much as you need, from just 1 metre.
Universal use - suitable for light fittings, expansion joints, air handling and building structures.
Use
Sealing into light fittings and lighting fixtures.
Sealing expansion joints.
Sealing when covering with polycarbonate.
Sealing in air handling.
Sealing structural and building parts in the construction and engineering industry.
Applications in the food and automotive industry.
Frequently asked questions
What maximum strip length can I order?
The maximum length of one strip is 10 m. We supply the strip as a cut length and the minimum order is 1 metre.
What temperature does the EPDM strip withstand?
It reliably resists in the range -40 to +100 °C without a change of properties. In the short term it withstands exposure to temperatures up to +130 °C, at which, however, premature ageing must be expected.
Is production of another shape or size possible?
Yes. EPDM sealing profiles are available to order in further shapes and sizes from the catalogue and upon agreement production of a shape according to the customer's specific needs is also possible.
