Product description
EPDM rubber sealing strip with textile insert in the dimension 3 mm x 40 mm is a compact black sealing profile sold as a cut length, ideal for reliable sealing of structural and building parts.
The strip is made of compact rubber on a base of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) with inorganic and organic additives and with a reinforcing textile insert. By its mechanical, physical and chemical properties it is intended for sealing the most varied structural and building parts in various branches of industry. The material does not let air through and has practically zero water absorption, thanks to which it creates a reliable sealing barrier.
The profile has a smooth surface and a black colour, it is produced as standard in a hardness of 70 °ShA. EPDM excellently resists weather influences and keeps its stable properties in the temperature range -40 to +100 °C without a change of physical, mechanical and chemical properties. In the short term it withstands temperatures up to +130 °C, at which, however, premature ageing of the material must be expected.
We supply the strip as a cut length with a minimum order of 1 metre, with the maximum length of one strip being 10 m. EPDM sealing profiles are also available to order in further shapes and sizes stated in the relevant catalogue, and upon agreement production of a shape according to the customer's specific needs is also possible.
Main advantages
Resistance to weather – EPDM excellently withstands weather influences and moisture, so it is suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use.
Wide temperature range – stable properties from -40 to +100 °C and short-term resistance up to +130 °C.
Textile insert – strengthens the profile and limits its stretching during installation.
Zero water absorption – the material does not let air through and does not take up moisture, thereby ensuring a reliable seal.
Sold by the metre – you buy exactly as much as you need, from just 1 metre.
Universal use – suitable for construction, engineering, the food industry and the automotive industry.
Use
Sealing into light fittings.
Sealing expansion joints.
Sealing when covering with polycarbonate.
Sealing in air handling.
Sealing structural and building parts in the construction and engineering industry.
Applications in the food and automotive industry.
