Product description
Microporous EPDM rubber with a thickness of 8 mm is a lightweight sealing material with excellent resistance to weather and UV radiation, which we sell by the metre in a roll width of 1 m according to your requirement.
This material is made of lightweight (expanded) rubber on an EPDM base with a soft cellular structure. Thanks to it, it adapts well to the shape of the joint and creates a reliable soft seal even at low contact pressure. The density of the material is 115 ± 25 kg/m³, the standard thickness is 8 mm and the colour is black.
The rubber is supplied by the metre in a width of 1 m in steps of 0,5 m. A maximum of 2 m can be ordered in one piece.
EPDM is one of the materials with high resistance to weather influences and UV radiation, which is why it is suitable for outdoor use. It is partially resistant to alkalis and acids, but it is not resistant to oils and petrol.
Main advantages
High resistance to weather and UV - the EPDM-based material withstands the outdoors long term without losing its properties.
Soft and reliable seal - the microporous structure adapts to the shape of the joint even at low contact pressure.
Damping of vibration and noise - lightweight rubber absorbs vibration in mechanical engineering and air handling.
Practical roll width of 1 m - easy dividing and minimal waste when sealing flanges and joints.
Standard thickness of 8 mm - a sufficient reserve for levelling out irregularities of the sealed surface.
Applications
Production of soft seals and additional sealing of flanges.
Damping of vibration and noise in mechanical engineering.
Seals in air handling and air conditioning.
Outdoor applications exposed to weather and UV radiation.
Fillers and stops where a soft and pliable material is needed.
Frequently asked questions
What width does the rubber have and how is it sold?
We supply it by the metre in a roll width of 1 000 mm. The minimum order is 0,5 running metre, i.e. 0,5 m².
Is this material suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. EPDM is highly resistant to weather influences and UV radiation, which is why it is suitable for outdoor use.
Does the rubber resist oils and petrol?
No. This material is not resistant to oils and petrol. It is partially resistant to alkalis and acids.
Details of the dimensional tolerances for rubber products can be found in the shop footer.
