Product description
SBR gasket sheet in a width of 1200 mm is the most affordable rubber gasket sheet for general use with an increased tensile strength of 5 MPa. It is sold by the square metre (m²) as a cut from a roll 1200 mm wide.
The sheet is made on an SBR rubber base and is intended for applications without special demands for resistance to negative environmental influences. Thanks to a hardness of 65 ± 5 °ShA and an elongation of 200 % it seats and seals joints well under normal mechanical load.
The material works in the temperature range from -25 °C to +80 °C and has a density of 1,5 g/cm³. The colour is black. SBR is slightly resistant to acids and alkalis; it is not resistant to oil, petrol, ozone, UV radiation or weather influences, so we recommend it for indoor environments and mechanical sealing.
We supply the sheet either as a whole roll 10 lin. m long, or as a cut length – you can therefore order a cut from the given roll width of 1200 mm, where 1 linear metre (lin. m) = 1,2 m². The minimum order is 0,5 lin. m, i.e. 0,6 m². Thicknesses from 1,5 mm to 10 mm are available.
Main advantages
- Most affordable choice – suitable where there are no special demands for chemical or weather resistance.
- Increased tensile strength 5 MPa – better tear resistance during handling and installation.
- Wide thickness range 1,5 – 10 mm – one sheet for thin as well as more robust seals.
- Sold to size by the metre – a cut from the 1200 mm roll, you pay only for the area actually taken in m².
- Stable in the range -25 °C to +80 °C – usable in normal operating conditions.
- Universal black sheet – hardness 65 ± 5 °ShA and elongation 200 % for good seal seating.
Use
- Mechanical sealing of flanges, joints and covers under normal load.
- Custom production of seals and pads by cutting from a cut length.
- Damping and shimming of joints where there is no contact with oils and chemicals.
- General industrial and maintenance applications without demands for resistance to UV radiation, ozone and weather.
- Indoor environments and engineering assemblies where price and availability are decisive.
Frequently asked questions
How is the gasket sheet sold and what is the minimum order?
The sheet is sold by the square metre as a cut from a roll 1200 mm wide, with 1 linear metre corresponding to 1,2 m². The minimum order is 0,5 lin. m, i.e. 0,6 m². We also supply whole rolls 10 lin. m long.
What thicknesses are available?
Thicknesses of 1,5; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 8 and 10 mm are available. The weight increases with thickness – for example 1,5 mm has 2,25 kg/m² and 10 mm 15,0 kg/m².
Is the SBR sheet resistant to oils and weather?
No. SBR material is slightly resistant to acids and alkalis, but it is not resistant to oil, petrol, ozone, UV radiation or weather influences. It is an economical sheet for general mechanical sealing.
