Product description

The FKM (fluororubber) sealing sheet with a width of 1200 mm is a compact sealing material based on a fluoroelastomer for the most demanding chemical and temperature environments. We sell it cut to length from the roll per square metre (m²).

FKM belongs, together with the VITON brand, among the fluoroelastomers, which are distinguished by exceptional resistance to aggressive media. The sheet resists diluted as well as concentrated acids and alkalis, synthetic as well as mineral oils and also petrol, and is therefore intended for special applications and demanding operating conditions.

The material has a hardness of 70 ± 5 °ShA, a tensile strength of 5 MPa, an elongation of 200 % and a density of 1,9 g/cm³. The working temperature range of −30 °C to +275 °C predestines it for permanent use at high temperatures. The sheet is black and is supplied in thicknesses from 2 mm to 10 mm.

The prices refer to the m² unit of the sealing sheet in the stated thickness. We supply whole rolls in a length of 10 bm or as cut to length – you can therefore order only a cut from the given roll width of 1200 mm, where 1 linear metre (bm) = 1,2 m². The minimum order is 0,1 bm, i.e. 0,12 m².

Main advantages

  • High chemical resistance – it resists diluted as well as concentrated acids and alkalis, oils and petrol.

  • Temperature resistance up to +275 °C – the working range of −30 °C to +275 °C allows permanent use in hot operations.

  • FKM fluoroelastomer – the same group of materials as VITON, highly resistant to ageing.

  • Wide roll of 1200 mm – sufficient width for larger sealing surfaces and cut-outs.

  • Sale to size – cutting to length from the roll minimises waste and costs.

  • Choice of thicknesses 2 – 10 mm – one material for various sealing requirements.

Use

  • Seals in contact with aggressive chemicals, acids and alkalis.

  • Applications exposed to synthetic and mineral oils or petrol.

  • High-temperature operations with temperatures up to +275 °C.

  • Production of custom flange and flat seals.

  • Special sealing elements in the chemical and engineering industry.

Frequently asked questions

How is the FKM sealing sheet sold and how is the price calculated?

The sheet is sold per square metre (m²) as a cut from a roll with a width of 1200 mm. It applies that 1 linear metre of the cut = 1,2 m². The minimum order is 0,1 bm, i.e. 0,12 m². We also supply whole rolls in a length of 10 bm.

Which media does the FKM sheet resist?

It is highly resistant to diluted as well as concentrated acids and alkalis, synthetic and mineral oils, petrol, high temperatures and ageing, which makes it suitable for special and demanding applications.

In which thicknesses and up to what temperature is it available?

The sheet is available in thicknesses of 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm. The working temperature is in the range of −30 °C to +275 °C.
