Product description
Microporous EPDM sealing rubber is a foamed (expanded) EPDM-based sheet 5 mm thick, with a roll width of 1 m and in black. Thanks to its porous structure with a density of approximately 115 kg/m³ it is soft and pliable, so it can compensate for minor unevenness of the mating surfaces. It is sold as cut goods charged by the square metre and we cut it exactly to size.
Properties of microporous EPDM rubber
EPDM is characterised by excellent resistance to weathering and UV radiation, which is why it is suitable for outdoor use as well. The sheet is 5 mm thick and the standard roll width is 1 000 mm (1 m). The density of the foamed rubber is 115 ± 25 kg/m³, thanks to which it stays elastic and damps well.
In terms of chemical resistance, the rubber is highly resistant to weather and UV radiation and partially resistant to alkalis and acids. It is not suitable for contact with oils or petrol, so do not use it in environments with mineral oils or fuels.
Key benefits
High resistance to weather and UV radiation – EPDM material suitable for outdoor use as well.
Soft, foamed structure – seats well and compensates for minor unevenness of surfaces.
Damping of vibration and noise – suitable for backing and additional sealing.
Cut to size – you order exactly as many square metres as you need.
Roll width of 1 m – convenient coverage of larger areas.
Black colour – discreet, universal finish.
Applications
Making soft seals.
Sealing flanges.
Damping vibration and noise.
Mechanical engineering.
Ventilation systems.
Frequently asked questions
What thickness, width and length does the sheet have?
The standard thickness is 5 mm, the roll width is 1 m (1.000 mm) and the roll length is 2 m (2.000 mm). The goods are supplied as cut goods and sold by the square metre.
Is this material resistant to oils?
No. Microporous EPDM rubber is not resistant to oils or petrol. It is, however, highly resistant to weathering and UV radiation and partially resistant to alkalis and acids.
What is the order quantity?
The minimum order is 0,5 m². Further quantities can be ordered in steps of 0,5 m² from the total roll length of 2m.
Details of the dimensional tolerances for rubber products can be found in the shop footer.
